THE 'BIRTH' OF OUR 6th BABY - ORMAE INTERIORS
Meeting at the school gate every day, often in the same coat (obviously share the same sense of amazing style!) we quickly realised that we had a lot in common. We were both looking for something more than being 'Mum', something which would allow us an opportunity to use our skills and experience in a creative and fulfilling way.
Don't get us wrong, we both adore our kids and enjoy being there for them and seeing them grow but we also both share a passion for design and interiors - both of us have renovated our own homes and helped friends and family with theirs to make them work successfully for their families.
Hence 'Ormae' was born. And if you're wondering where the name came from, it's homage to our 5 children - Oliver, Rafferty, Monty, Arlo and Esme. See - we do really love them!
After graduating with a 2:1 in Design for Television I went on to work as an Art Director in TV on popular well known programmes such as Eastenders, Hollyoaks and The Bill. I also worked in front of the camera as the resident artist on 60 Minute Makeover.
My love and passion for design is demonstrated throughout our newly refurbished Victorian family home. This is my second home renovation, my first being featured in 25 Beautiful Homes.
Now Mum to Monty and Arlo, my design focus is to retain a beautiful home whilst cleverly containing all of the paraphernalia children bring with them!
I have also gained a Professional Diploma in Interior Design.
Mum to Oliver, Rafferty and Esme, I have a background in Design with a BA in Fashion Design which I studied for at the prestigious London College of Fashion. My fashion background means I have a keen eye for colour, soft furnishings and textiles and I am experienced in sourcing furniture, various soft furnishings and fabrics, and finishing touches.
A home owner since the age of 21, and four homes later, I have always designed and renovated my own houses, from a young professional's party-pad to a house which now works for a growing family of 5!
I have designed a successful guest exhibition space at The Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, London and I have also retrained in Professional Interior Design with the National Design Academy.
